Need a post-Winter check in?
I have put together this printable to use to help you just stop for a moment and reflect on where life is at right now and what you would like to change so that the remaining part of the year is less “Argh!!” and more “Ahh!!” (cue stream of light breaking through the dark cloud and shining over you brightly!). I would love people to find more rhythm in themselves and their life so that the road ahead is more about choice rather than getting away from how it has been.
Enjoy!!
Enjoy!!

This is a way to check in with yourself and mindfully set up your day. It only takes 5 minutes the beginning of the day but sets you up to be more in alignment of what is important . Here are the guidelines and an example:

So how did I go on that day…I rocked it!! I got my video done and was able to upload it to the group as a welcoming message. Because I was focussed on how I wanted to be at the end of the day I found it easier to override the angst. It lost its importance. Did the thoughts and emotions go away while I was videoing? No not at all. They became background noise. They were like a radio on in another room. I could still do what I needed to do and just notice that it was there. It felt good! I now use this as a regular investment into myself because I really notice it when I don’t do it now!
- I give myself 2 minutes for a “mind/emotion” check in. I ask myself how I am feeling and what my thoughts are that the day ahead brings up for me. It can be anything - internal or external. So for example, a day that I had a few weeks ago was one where I had noticed putting off doing an introductory video clip for the Online Soul Coaching® group that had just started. I wrote about feeling a bit anxious about being in front of the camera and my thoughts were around not knowing enough technology and if I could get my message across authentically. It is important to me for people to feel connected to their journey. In this reflection process I don’t try and solve or fix it. I just notice it and allow it to be there. We disempower those hooks that take us away from what our desire is by naming it and not going into battle with it. So this is a time of just noticing how it sits in our body, how it makes us feel and what thoughts try and distract us from what we wish to make happen in our lives.
- I then give myself 1 minute to ask myself how would I like to be at the end of the day. I try and picture myself at the end of the day and how I would like to feel and think about myself and the day I have had. So continuing with my example; I reflected on that day that I would like to think that the videoing was actually fun and turned out really well. I would like to feel a sense of satisfaction that I had pushed through an angst that now no longer had the power. I also wanted to feel I was in better alignment with my values by actually providing something I felt would help with connecting to the people who were doing the Soul Coaching® online course.
- In the last 2 minutes, I ask myself what could I do today that will help me achieve what I would like to be at the end of the day. I give myself 3 things that will support my end of day desire. The key here is to be concrete, clear and realistic. I keep it to three things so that it is achievable. In my example, I set out the day with the following: (1) I would do a video rather than Facebook live to begin with to get used to videoing myself; (2) I gave myself permission to do up to 5 attempts; and (3) I would write a rough outline rather than feel like I had to improvise within the recording.
